Nete Nørgaard Nielsen
FOUNDER, SINGER & TRAINER
I have made it my personal mission to help people develop their voice, body language, speaking style and mindset. What started out as an innocent interest in music and opera grew into a full-throated passion for the science of human communication and human expression, and how the music can be used for maximum impact in our professional and personal lives.
“So many people do not utilize even a fraction of their communication skills. Whether it’s for informal meetings or powerful performances, I am a strong believer in the tangible tools and techniques from the world of music and opera. There is nothing mysterious or unreal about them, they’re just there ready to be used.
I imagine It's a bit like working in the IT industry. But rather than installing IT software we install human software programs instead. A program to optimize voice, a program to use the full potential in body language, a program to handle nervousness etc. We ourselves got all these programs coded on to our hard disk during our musical education, and we have used many years to refine them so that they are as easy to install and as effective as possible.”
Nete Nørgaard – Nielsen (1977) holds a Master in Musicology, Italian and Entrepreneurship, and is an educated opera singer from schools in Copenhagen and London. She founded Ministry of Music in 2006.
Sine Broberg Ringblom
SINGER, SINGING COACH & TRAINER
I am a dedicated practitioner in the world of music, having refined my craft through decades of commitment and training. For me, music is not just a passion; it is a powerful medium of communication that can create connections, evoke emotional resonance, move hearts, and inspire people!
My musical journey began early in my childhood home and truly took off when I became part of the Jutland School of Singing in Herning. Over the years, I have gained extensive education and experience in both classical and contemporary singing. I hold a Master's degree in classical singing from the University of Southern Denmark's Conservatory of Music .
Today, I work as a freelance singer and performer through my company, SineRingblom Performance, where I use techniques from the performing arts to create communication that moves people.
For me, music is about more than just performing. It is a process where we transform the emotions and experiences evoked by music into tangible actions that can inspire and bring about change. I am deeply committed to continuing to use music to create positive transformations and look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Karen Strande
SINGER & TRAINER
Karen has always loved to talk and sing. In everything she does – when she is cycling, when she is taking a shower, when she is cooking etc. – her voice is in focus.
“The enthusiasm that I feel when I am singing has always been my motivation. To communicate and pass on these singing techniques, that can create such wellbeing, is for me very giving.”
Her skills as a trainer in Ministry of Music comes from her work as a choirmaster for children and adults. Through her work Karen has become very aware of how important clear communication is, in relation to the commitment of the listeners and the participants. It is especially the children who gives you a very direct feedback.
“If I’m entering a room with a group of 30 children ready for choir class, and I am tired, it will only take a few minutes before they’ll loudly express how boring it is! In that sense my work as a choirmaster has really opened my eyes as to how big an influence a conscious use of voice and body language has on the impact of your communication.”
Karen’s communication skills are also founded in a theoretical background, as she holds a Master in Musicology and a Master in Rhetoric’s from the University of Copenhagen.
Louise Schrøder
PIANIST & TRAINER
Louise has always been fascinated by music and has played since the age of five. The skills from music that she uses as a trainer in Ministry of Music comes from her daily work with singers, choirs, opera productions, auditions and concerts. In each of these situations the ability to observe, adjust details and handling stress and nervousness are all very important characteristics.
“Breathing is for me the keyword because it binds all of our tools together. Breathing is important for your quality of voice, your articulation, your posture and your nerves. Very few of us are breathing the right way but it has a big impact on every little thing we do so it is very important to learn how to breathe properly.
Moreover, we must breathe together to be able to communicate in a good way. A conversation is like chamber music and the work between a singer and a pianist. We have to breathe together, listen to each other, sense where the other person/musician is - in general, respect the common rules: follow each other’s tempo and pace, don’t interrupt each other and look at each other.”
Louise holds her Masters from the Danish National Academy of Music.
Laurits Dragsted
PIANIST & TRAINER
A free natural sound is something most musicians consciously aspire to produce. Whether it is pressing a key on the piano or singing a melody, we need to relax the right muscles and create focus as well as musical flow. If you cramp up while playing or press your voice to singing a high note, the sound will reveal that your body is tense.
In public speaking we face the same issue – how do we avoid straining the voice when speaking to an audience? How do we obtain a free natural sound that supports our message and convinces the listener?
In my experience, the musical toolkit is most valuable. It is well equipped to describe different qualities in sound as well as pointing out the necessary techniques that are to be used in a specific situation.
